Let the tears begin....
Friday is my last day at work, which means I only have 2 days left here. However, I shouldn't already be crying about leaving this place!! I got a box and started packing up my personal stuff from my desk today and as soon as someone did the whole "Why are you packing? You act like you're leaving us to go to law school or something", I just broke down! I am officially an emotional basket case, lol. I know everything is going to work out just fine, but I feel like I'm leaving the people who taught me everything I know about my chosen career field, and it makes me sad. Hopefully Friday will include some laughter along with the tears I'm sure I'll be shedding all day :) Either way, I can definitely say I have been blessed with one of the best jobs anyone could ever ask for.

Sad Day
Today is the start of my last week at my job....and I'm having mixed feelings about it. While I am so excited to start school and get moving with the next chapter of my life, I feel like I am closing a huge door of my life that I wish could stay open. I almost feel like I turned into an adult at this job. I have made some of the best friends and learned so much here. While this place has its ups and downs, just like any other job, I would definitely say it's been the best job I've ever had, and I consider myself extremely lucky to have been fortunate enough to be employed at Beers Anderson. Hopefully, everyone is right when they say working here will help me in law school and I won't be lost in space like many of the other students....I'm keeping my fingers crossed on that one. Oh well, enough with the sad stuff....I guess I just need to focus on the big picture and be happy about that....but I won't promise that a few tears won't be shed this week :(

Domestication at its finest....
Anyone who knows me fairly well knows that I don't pride myself on my domestic skills....because they're nothing to brag about :( My mom, on the other hand, is pretty much the most domestic woman alive...followed closely by my friend, Nicole. Anything in the kitchen can be done by these two...and pretty much any other thing that is considered a wife's "job" around the house...they're just naturals, lol. Somehow, the apple just fell way too far away from the tree in my situation and I'm having to take this process one step at a time. However, I'm quite proud to say that I'm pretty sure I have made a HUGE stride in the life long battle of becoming a domestic goddess :) Nicole made some super cute gifts for the girls in our sorority and she inspired me to learn how to sew. I'm nowhere near her level, but as of last night, I successfully completed my very first pillow!! If all things work as planned, I might make some more of them to use as new member gifts for the new girls we'll be getting this fall...I'm pretty proud of my little creation...and just in case you're wondering...yes, I did add a place on the pillow for a picture to be inserted. I saw it somewhere online during one of my many Google searches for random crafty stuff and just had to try it!
MELTDOWN!!!!
For some reason, at about 11:00 last night, I got the idea to look over my book list for school and see if I could find them cheaper online than in the school bookstore. I opened my orientation packet to see a set of dates in bold...these dates were July 13-15...and these were the dates in which I was to get online and register for my classes....just to throw this out there....yesterday was the 19th!!! In other words, I had completely missed the deadline for registration for classes. For those of you who know me well, this is NOT me at all. Normally, I would be the first one in line for registration and would have to wait forever because I showed up too early. Needless to say, I went into a major panic meltdown mode, which of course, freaked Tony out. I rushed to the computer and pulled up the website to find that the registration page was still up and by some miracle, I was still able to register for classes. I do not know, nor do I want to find out, what the consequences of that situation could have been. All I know is I'm soooo glad that website was still up! So, I've made it through meltdown #1 of law school, and as much as I'd love to think this would be the only meltdown that's going to occur, something tells me it's the first of many.....ugh!!! Oh well, at least I'm registered :) One step closer!

21 days to go!
Well, the law school countdown date is now at 21 days....AAAHHH!!! Last week, I received my letter containing the amount of student loan money I've been approved for. While I would love to have enough scholarship money/money in savings to not need any loan money, let's face it, I live in Prattville...not Perfect. Everyone keeps saying all of this hard work and thousands of dollars will be worth it, and all I have to say is.....IT BETTER BE!!!! :)

Section B, Here I Come!!

Well, the law school start date countdown is at 28 days....which absolutely blows my mind!! I know I always said I was going to do this, but I really never thought I would actually be going to law school and quickly approaching that dream career I never thought I would achieve. I'm pretty freaked out about it! For those of you who may not understand what the whole "Section B" thing is, it's basically the group of people that will become like family for the next few years. In law school, the group of first year students are broken down into sections. At Jones, there are two sections, A and B obviously :) For the first year of school, you take every class with the exception of 1 with your section....so the people in my section are the people I will see everyday. I'll study with them, stress with them, and hopefully pass classes with them, lol. I'm so fortunate to already know someone in my section that I'll be able to study with. We went to AUM together, and her husband is also a student at Jones, but he's further along than us, so hopefully he will be able to give us some good pointers! Other than my wedding day, I don't think I've ever been this nervous in my life! Orientation starts August 9th, so everyone please keep me and my poor husband in your prayers, lol. I know he's so ready for me to shut up talking about all this stuff that he doesn't care two cents about, haha!

Cake Balls!!!
Lately, I've been feeling the need to explore that strange room in my house that I very seldom venture into...the kitchen!!! I saw a really cute dessert posted on my favorite photographer's blog (this is where normal people would put a link to the blog of the person they're referring to, but I'm a blog idiot, and I don't know how, so thanks anyway Jay!) and it looked easy to make, so I gave it a shot. Cake balls are basically what they sound like....cake made into balls and covered with chocolate. For mine, I used strawberry cake mix and strawberry icing. Then, I topped them with white chocolate and of course, I had to throw in some sprinkles for good measure. As of yesterday, I have made these cute little desserts twice and both times, they were completely gone before I could blink my eyes! The only reason I even got to try them the first time I made them is because I ate one before I left home with them, lol. I forgot to take a picture of my cake balls, but I found this picture of someone else's cake balls that look similar to mine....I hope they don't mind me stealing it!!
