I'm very pleased to say that my last blog post was less than a month ago...no more bad blogger awards for me! Well, no bad blogger awards at least for this month :)
Unfortunately, I don't have any huge news to share with the world, but I guess no news is good news. I got my registration completed to take the MPRE in August. For those of you wondering what the heck the MPRE is, it's basically the ethics part of the bar exam, but we get to take it right after finishing our ethics class instead of with the rest of the bar exam. In theory, this should make retaining the information for the test easier since it should be fresh on my mind....NOT! The test is 30 days away, so I need to get on the ball and start re-learning this stuff. We'll see how that goes. I'll just go ahead and plan on several late nights, early mornings, and caffeine overdoses.
As for the non-school side of my life (you know, the remaining 5% that school doesn't take up), can I just go on the record and say that it seems like everybody, and I mean just about everybody is pregnant?!?! I can't get on facebook without seeing baby belly or ultrasound pictures...it's crazy! Don't get me wrong, I'm super excited about all the new little babies to cuddle with :) I've just never seen so many pregnant people! For me, this means lots and lots of baby showers....which I love! Last month, I helped host a shower for my friend Sara, and baby Maddox arrived two weeks ago. He's absolutely precious :) I'm helping with another shower for my friend Holly in a few weeks, and baby Ellyson will be here sometime in September. Maybe, just maybe, Tony and I will be joining the baby club in the next year or so.....guess we'll see :)

I'm Officially a Bad Blogger
After checking in on the blogs I read pretty regularly, I realized that I had not posted a single word in my blog since January....that's right, it's been 5 whole months. In the blog world, I'd say that qualifies me for the "Worst Blogger Ever" award :( Luckily, I'm not aware of that award actually existing, so I'll just pick up and move on where I left off!
I have another semester of law school under my belt! This semester was another tough one....hence the zero blog posts since January. We finished exams in mid-May, and it took nearly a month to get all of our grades back! Needless to say, myself and lots of my friends were nervous wrecks for what seemed like an eternity. I never thought I would get to say this relating to law school.....seriously, NEVER thought this would happen, but I made Dean's List this semester!!! I guess all those super late nights and dreadfully early mornings in the library actually paid off. Check that one off the bucket list :)
Now that my second year of law school is over, the harsh realities of being a third year law student are starting to set in. I'm working on getting my 3L practice card, which basically means I can go to court and do "real" lawyer stuff....well, as long as a supervising attorney is with me. Next, I'll be registering for the bar exam (insert sick feeling in the deepest depths of my stomach). I'm also doing my rigorous writing assignment next semester, and yes, apparently it's called the "rigorous" writing assignment for a reason. At this point, after surviving the most difficult 2 years of my entire educational life, I'm pretty sure I can handle all that....hopefully.
Outside of school, things are pretty much great! I still love my job :) I really do learn something new everyday. I'm getting a new car!! Hopefully we'll make the big purchase before school starts back, but if not, I'll definitely be cruising in a new set of wheels sometime in late August or early September. I'm trying my best to convince Tony that we need a new house, but for some reason, he's just not jumping on that bandwagon yet....maybe it has something to do with his wife still being a full-time student, lol.
That's pretty much an update on the high points of life right now. I won't even waste my time making a promise to blog more often because I don't like breaking promises, but I'm sure going to give it a shot :)

Half of Me is a Lawyer??
The half-way point.....it seemed so monumental at the instant moment I realized finals were really over, and I had survived. Now, it seems like the next year and a half is going to last forever. The good news is, I made it to this point. Finals are over, grades are posted, and I didn't fail any classes. Some grades were awesome, but one stupid class kept me from making dean's list. In order to avoid posting the world's longest complaint blog, I'll just leave that where it is and not cry over spilled milk.
My study partner and I did find a new "blue suite." Actually, the lovely library people just pushed the study rooms back a few feet and gave them numbers instead of colors. So, we now have a new home. All we need is a coffee table and a couch....OH, and a Keurig :) After this horrible semester, I can genuinely say I'm looking forward to a fresh start with new classes, new professors, and most importantly new highlighters!!
On the non-law school side of things, my husband and I, along with my parents took a Christmas vacation to the Smoky Mountains. We had such a great time, and I can't wait to go back! It was so nice just to relax on the porch of a log cabin and know that I didn't have an exam the next day or an outline to work on :) One down side, for those of you who have never stayed literally at the top of a mountain, the drive to and from that awesome cabin was quite scary. My mom seriously kept her eyes closed the entire time, haha!! I also discovered a hidden talent while on vacation....darts! Our cabin had an electronic dart board in the game room, and Tony thought he could beat me....wrong! I have no idea how, but I managed to beat everybody in the house at darts. So, all in all, if this lawyer thing doesn't work out, professional dart league, here I come!
School starts back next week, so starting Monday, it will be back to the books for another 4 months. Yay!! (Please sense the sarcasm in that "yay"). Oh well, it's like my husband keeps telling me, half of me is a lawyer. Now all I need is to get the other half of me to come along for the ride :)
