Goodbye 1L Life

Well people, it's over!!!! All 5 finals are complete and pending a few passing grades, I will no longer be a lowly 1L...YAY!!!!! This year has taught me so much about myself and about life in general. I have learned that if I push myself and work my hardest, I really can accomplish anything I set my mind to. I have learned that I am alot tougher than I thought and that my body can function on alot less sleep than I thought, haha! I have made some of the best friends in the world, and I'm dreading the fact that some of them may be transferring back home in the fall :(

I learned alot about other people this year too. I'm sure it's just part of growing up, but it seems like the older I get, the more I realize that there will always be those people around you that will do whatever it takes to get by, no matter how sketchy, unethical, or just plain wrong it is. It is those people who give lawyers a bad name, and I'm proud to say that none of those people are the "friends" I associate myself with. However, it doesn't take long to pick them out in my class, and I can only hope they'll realize that cheating your way to success isn't a very honorable thing....and soapbox over, lol.

Back to good stuff :) I'm sooooo excited that school is out for a while and that I can finally get some sleep!! I can't wait to sleep in on a Saturday morning and go on dates with my husband....bless his heart....he's been so supportive this year. I couldn't ask for anyone better. My next post will be full of the door signs I'm planning on starting tomorrow :) YAY!!

Burned Out....to the max

Survival of the fittest....until now, I never truly experienced anything that was that phrase personified. As of today, myself along with about 68 classmates, have taken 4 dreadful finals, written 9 essays, answered over 100 multiple choice questions, and consumed what should be an illegal amount of caffeine...and as of 11:00 a.m. tomorrow, it's all over. The fact that all this work is about to pay off and that I'm about to complete my first year of law school is pretty surreal...or maybe I'm just delusional at this point. Either way, it seems crazy. The past 9 months have flown by SO fast. It seems like last week, I was pulling into the Rennaissance parking lot to have my first day of orientation, and now I'm about to be done with what "they" say is the hardest part of law school. Well, "they" better be flippin' right!!! Oh well....guess I just needed something to distract me from the constant reality of studying my nights away....less than 12 hours until my last final starts...WOO HOO!!!!!!!!

Panic Season #2

Well, exams start tomorrow....I mean today (since it's after midnight)....insert rising blood pressure, racing heart beat, stomach in throat, and all those other fun things that just happened to me. I would be lying if I didn't say I'm actually more nervous this semester than I was last semester. That seems totally backwards to me and completely wrong, but it's the truth. I have no idea why I feel this way. My only justification is that I assume my professors just expect us to learn this stuff on our own and they're going to throw stuff at us that we've never seen and be expected to spit out a 10 page essay on it in 1 hour.....which is unfortunately somewhat true.

I have one more exam this semester than last semester, and this torture isn't going to be over until next Wednesday...that's right....exams last 10 days!!! I'm pretty sure the Constitution says something about cruel and unusual punishment....anybody else think a 10 day exam period qualifies as cruel and unusual???

Oh well....the reality is here, and I have no other option but to trust that I've studied hard and will at least get passing grades (even though I would love nothing more than to walk out with a 4.0....oh, wait, I live in America, not Perfect)...either way, I'll be saying bye bye to blog world for at least 10 days. Hope all of you whose summer has already begun are enjoying it. Please think of me as you are bathing in the sun or sleeping super late or any of that other fun stuff associated with summer break :)
