Pearls, Squirrels, and Alpha Gam Girls!

I am an alumnae member of the Theta Beta chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta at AUM. I am currently serving as the new member advisor, and since the chapter is getting ready to initiate some new members, I thought I should get...I mean....make, them something cute to go along with the gifts they will be getting soon. After much contemplating (a.k.a. googling), I decided to paint them all a clipboard, and of course, I painted an extra one for myself. Here they are!

And again....all wrapped up and ready to go!

Move out of my way Martha!!

So, I started the chocolate stuff mentioned in my last post on Thursday night, and I need to go on the record for saying that I am so proud of myself, lol. I am far from being a great cook....or even a good cook to be completely honest. However, my chocolate creations for Mallory's shower turned out just great! I can't wait for her to see them. She's going to be so proud, lol. Check it out!!! Here are some of the pretzels....
I also started on the marshmallows last night, and I was pretty sure these were going to be a complete disaster, but they actually look pretty good, and they taste even better!! They are a little more time consuming than I had hoped, but I got a little faster once I got the hang of it.

I think I just might be getting the hang of this whole cooking thing, HAHA!

Martha Stewart in the making????? :)

My best friend is getting married in less than 2 months, which I am SO excited about. I am helping host her first shower this coming up Saturday, and I'm attempting to make some of the refreshments....for some reason, I chose to try making chocolate covered stuff!! I don't know what I was thinking! Needless to say, the next few days should be very interesting because I'll be "practicing" :) So far, I think I'm going to try pretzels and marshmallows, but we'll see how attractive they turn out. If all else fails, I'll be purchasing some type of bakery goodies at the last minute...which is typical for me anyway! Tonight, I plan on tackling round 1 of the pretzels....pictures and updates to come later!!

Feeling Domestic??

On any normal day, I would definitely say NO to the title of this post. However, a new friend gave me a recipe for some homemade chicken noodle soup that I just felt like trying Sunday night. So, off to the grocery store I went. I fully expected the soup to turn out awful and for Tony and Matt (Tony's new right hand) to laugh at me as they poured it down the garbage disposal, lol....but they didn't! All three of us actually seemed to think the soup turned out pretty good, and I even brought it to work for lunch today. I better be careful, or I might just turn into someone that actually has decent cooking skills :) Anyway, I thought I would share the recipe for anybody out there who actually enjoys being in the kitchen!

Ingredients:
-3 boneless skinless chicken breasts (I'm pretty sure you can use any kind of chicken you want, but this is just what I chose)
-8 cups of water
-8 chicken bullion cubes
-2 cans of cream of chicken soup
-16 oz. of sour cream
-1 large bag of egg noodles

Boil the chicken breasts and set aside. Bring water and bullion cubes to a boil. Once water and bullion is boiling, add in noodles, cream of chicken soup, and sour cream. Make sure the chicken is shredded into pretty small pieces, or really just however you like it. Once noodles are done, add in chicken and mix it up!

This really was as easy as it sounds, and it was really good! Thanks Sara :)

The New Season....

For the past 3 seasons, I have been absolutely obsessed with Dancing With the Stars! I seriously watch it every single week, and if there is a chance that I might miss a minute of the episode.....DVR to the rescue! I started watching it more frequently when Melissa Rycroft was a contestant (She's the girl who got dumped by the Bachelor on national television after he proposed to her)....she was definitely my favorite of the season, and she finished a strong 3rd. This season, I'm not quite sure who my favorite contestant is yet, but I do know there is already a huge difference in the top performers and the bottom performers. I mean, one of the contestants is already getting 10s from the judges! I can't help but love this guy:

Even though he's definitely not a dancer, he just seems like such a gentleman all the time....not to mention, he did go to the moon!! I'm sure he won't last much longer on the show, but I've thoroughly enjoyed watching him charm the crowd for a few weeks.
While I can't get enough of Buzz, I do not feel the same way about some of the other contestants, this one in particular:

Don't get me wrong, I'm not one of those "Kate Haters" who thinks she should lock herself at home and raise her 8 children. I fully believe that all women, even mothers of eight should have their chance at fun....but she's just awful! She seems to have the worst attitude of anyone on the show, and she always looks so mad anytime one of the judges says anything negative to her. She just rubs me the wrong way. As for my prediction of this season's winner, I'm not 100% sure yet. I do, however, think the top 3 will consist of Nicole, the Pussycat Doll; Evan, the Olympic skater; and Erin, the ESPN chick....only time will tell if I know my stuff :)
