I needed a break from studying....and it's 12:19 a.m.....what else is there to do at this time of night....BLOG!! My first final, in civil procedure, is Monday....which is technically tomorrow. I nearly had a heart attack when I typed that last sentence....tomorrow?!?!?!?!?!?! Civil procedure is seriously my least favorite class.....I'll go as far as to say I pretty much dread the thought of walking in the classroom on Tuesday and Thursday for the 80 minutes that I have to sit through the class. It's just awful!!! I think my frustration with civ pro comes from the fact that there is this tiny little rule book that pretty much tells you everything you need to know about the subject....yet, we have to take an entire class on it and complicate everything about it! It could be the most easy class in the world, but instead, it's the most complicated! There are so many rules, and as an attorney, I have to know them all....but then there's that little rule book that leads me to belive no rational attorney actually knows all those rules when they can just reach for their handy dandy rule book for the answer.....ugh!!!
Oh well, it's inevitable, and I can't do anything about it. There will probably be 2 essays and about 30 multiple choice questions, which I'm certain Satan himself comes up with. I will have 3 hours to complete the monstrosity of a test.....OH! and throw in the fact that I have to finish in the top 25% of my class to keep my scholarship. I keep trying to forget that little detail since just passing would make me happy as a lark.....but passing isn't enough in my case. Let's just pray that I land in the top 25%....otherwise, the amount of debt I will have to incur for this legal education is going to triple....not good! However, pending that I do pass my classes....I will NOT drop out of school even if I don't land in the top 25%. I'm just not willing to quit after I've made it this far (which is only 1/6 of the way through, but it's a big 1/6, lol). I need all the prayers I can get to make it through next week and the following Tuesday.
Looking back, this has already been an amazing journey, and as stressed as I am, I don't think I regret it....yet :) I am super glad that I've been documenting my journey because in three years, when this is all over, I know I'll look back and laugh at the crazy things I said and the sleepless nights will just be a fun memory....hopefully! Pray for me, please.....I'm going to need it!
